With a name like "Death Squad", the first question on everyone's mind is, "Who are these guys?" Well, We're not just guys... We've got a few female members as well. But most importantly, we "Ride Hard". And that's our motto.
We're out to ride as hard as we can whether we're pedaling up the hill on a hardtail, down the hill on a full suspension, or across a desert as a roadie.
We are specific to mountain biking, but we support all facets or bicycling, as most of our riders ride XC, DH, Freeride, and Road.
We are continuing to grow through the support of others who join our online community,
http://dscycling.org, and everywhere we go someone always says, "Yeah. I've heard of you guys." It is our name and our drive that set us apart.
As far as the 2009 season goes, we've got a lot of the CCCX Series planned out both for DH, as well as XC. We're also planning on attending the Sea Otter Classic in Monterey, as well as a few endurance races and 24 hour races throughout the year. We also plan a few trips to both North Star and Downieville for recreational riding to meet other riders, stay in shape, and have fun.
As a non-profit club, we aim to serve our community and our surroundings, and to this end we have made one of our goals to be earth conscious, and recycling is the path that we chose. Are we tree-hugging hippies? No. But taking care of the world we ride in is just as important as getting on our bikes on a regular basis.
