BALLARD NATURE CENTER TRAIL RUN

MY RACE was a SUCCESS, I raised $1500 towards the maintainence and improvement for the trail system.

This is a race that I am putting on in my home town of Altamont,IL. All proceeds of this race will be given to the Ballard Nature Center. BNC is a non-profit organization that is focused on providing opportunities for others to learn about nature and the environment.

Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I began running periodically after high school, as my fittness level advanced I began cross training. My brother was a CAT2 cyclist at the time and prompted me to get interested in cycling. I had my bike for 2 weeks and saw a flyer for a triathlon. I entered and became devoted to the sport.

List your competitive highlights:

This past year I have finished in a top ten position for 70% of triathlon competitions and 80% in running competitions.

What are you planning for next season?

I am planning to compete at six to seven triathlons this next year. One race being Mid East Regional Championships,there I plan to qualify and compete for the Age Group National Championships in Tuscaloosa, AL.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

I would say that I have continually improved over the past few years in triathlon. I am quickly gaining strength, endurance and skill. This has been a great feeling, and I hope it never ends.
