What inspires you to compete?
I was always driven to compete whether it be school, work, or sports. I have that sixth sense to compete and to be the best. I always try to strategize so that I am one step ahead of my competition. One of the most important aspects of winning is learning how to lose. Once you understand failure, you can use it as motivation and a learning experience to intensify your performance. I use my passion for the sport of juggling to inspire me everyday. You tube videos and listening to music are great ways to jumpstart my day and encourages me to do my best.
Describe your style...
My style can best be described as focused, intense, sick, and smooth all combined into one. Some of my other skills that have influenced my style are break dancing, gymnastics, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Street performing has taught me to use my environment and audience to dictate the style and pace of my show. I work with my crowd and mold each show to that particular group of individuals. This also helps me to be versatile in any situation.
Do you train? What does your schedule look like?
Absolutely. I go to college fulltime and practice every evening. I make my own strict work out plans. Eating right is also a big part of training. Eating the correct foods help me stay mentally and physically prepared to practice without fatigue. I trained with Anthony Gatto, known by professional performers as the best juggler in the world. I incorporate what I learned from him and my own work outs to give me the edge to perform at my highest level.
Music?
I recommend Pandora radio. I’ve discovered great new music using this. Music plays a huge part in shaping my style of juggling. My favorite genres include techno, punk rock, alternative, classical, and ambience. Techno is my choice when juggling.
