T-GROM HAS A BIG WEEKEND |
Thomas "T-Grom" Clarke had a great weekend winning the Explorer Juniors division and getting second in the Explorer Mens division at the NSSA Southwest Conference Explorer # 8. The contest was help at Ponto in Carlsbad, Ca. Feb 17-18. The conditions were waist to chest high scattered beach break rights and lefts. The entire contest Thomas won just about every one of his heats on the way to both finals and according to Janice Aragon of the NSSA, "T-Grom was on his game at Ponto killing his heats all weekend in the Juniors division en route to his second win of the season." With new sponsorship support and good equipment under his feet, we are looking forward to the big show this summer, the NSSA National Championship. |

BAREWIRES SOON TO HOST FIGURESKATING TOURNAMENT? |
We would love to send a big, "I'm glad I don't live there", to all of our good friends in the very frigid Northeast. The first photos have come in showcasing its harsh conditions. According to Adam Holloway of Bare Wires in NJ, who's bones have grown old and fragile due to the weather, "Its starting to really suck!" On a high note though the waves have been pretty damn good. Last week Surfline.com had a feature on their last really good swell. Is it worth it? Some say hell yeah, thats all I know! Others just take up figureskating.

T-GROM JOINS VOLCOM |
Chemistry team rider Thomas "T-Grom" Clarke has decided to part ways with his long time clothing sponsor Quiksilver and joined the Volcom family. It was a very hard decision for Thomas who was with Quik for a majority of his life. It turned out Volcom seemed to be a better fit as well as the opportunity they promised in contract form. Thomas is looking forward to finishing up this season in three NSSA divisions, starting the ASP Pro Junior Tour, and going on a few photo trips. All before returning to the North Shore again next winter. Keep a look out for Thomas in an upcoming Chemistry ad in Transworld Surf. Also check out his profile on www.chemistrysurfboards.com.
