The holiday gift giving spirit was in full effect this year when employees of Active Ride Shop Temecula wanted to get their manager and our good friend, Will Barrazza a unique gift. Will is a loyal Chemistry rider and has a pretty nice quiver already, so making him something new and fresh presented a challenge. Jason Bennett finally came up with the idea of making Will an Alchemist Remix (available '08), hooking up the 5 fin setup, and designing a unique tail inspired by the Cadillac CTS. He ended up calling the design the Chem Caddy and Will was psyched! After months of speculation and rumors, Mike Gleason has joined the small and exclusive team of Chemistry Surfboards. Hailing from Long Branch, New Jersey, Mike joins the team as the only pro rider from the east coast. Mike is a former Smith Optics Garden State Grudge Match champ and one of the featured riders on Volcom's surf team. "We decided Mike was a good fit for the program shortly after I spent time with him on a trip to France this past September with the Nixon team," says Jason Bennett. "He has a great attitude and is definitely one of the standouts in the water when the waves are good." Gleason joins Cheyne Magnusson, Thomas "T-Grom" Clarke, Chris Abad, and Jason Bennett on Chemistry's pro team. He will also have his own signature model board in the 2008 lineup. We look forward to keeping Mike on great handshaped surfboards throughout his promising professional career.
