What inspires you to compete?
Ever since I was Little, I have loved to race. My dad raced snowmobiles from the time he was 15 until his 30's. he is in the Snowmobile Hall of Fame, so I've always been around racing, and I've always wanted to do it.
Why do you like this sport?
Watercross is unique. People that have never seen it may think it is impossible or just plain stupid. Then you go out and race and the looks you see on some people are great. They had no idea stuff like this was possible. People that go to watercross events often say that it was one of the coolest things they've ever seen.
Music?
I like mostly everything. I listen mostly to rock music like Underoath, silverstein, Haste The Day, Stellar Kart, and music like that. I also like some rap like Lil' Wayne, T.I., Chamillionaire, Plies, and Birdman. I like most country too.
Describe your style...
My dad has always told me that consistency and practice wins races, and championships, From when I raced 120 Ice Ovals, to now, racing watercross. I practice a lot before and between the races, which helps me to become comfortable on my sled and run consitently fast laps.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
One major thing in Watercross that isn't as serious in most sports is simple screw-ups. In Watercross, a simple oops by picking the wrong line, can make you sink, and take you out of the race in an instant. in 2007, at the Grantsburg World Chamionships, I had a half-lap lead on my opponents in the Semi-final. I was coming around the final corner, towards the checkerd flag, when i flat slid, spun out, and sank. I got last in the race and didn't qualify for the final. Anyone can screw up, but it was kind of embarassing to have thousands of people stare at me as I sat there in a lake, after totally giving the race away.
