Ready for 2008

Goals

It is my goal to be a competitive Pro Rider in the 2008 WORCS season.  To achieve this, in 2007 I competed in the Pro ranks in WORCS and the NW Quad Nationals Series. Currently I am 18th in WORCS Pro points and 2nd in NWQN Pro points (Sunday Series)

Me?

Once a racer, always a racer

I grew up at the drag strip. My Dad raced and my Mom managed the weekly races. I watched the races from the tower and handed my Dad tools between rounds as he tweeked the car to keep it competitive. Racing's in my blood.

I always thought that someday I would be behind the wheel of a big block powered, alcohol breathin' hot rod that liked to salute the crowds with a three foot wheel-stand at the stab of the throttle. Someday isn't here yet.

In my early twenties I discovered quads and dune riding on the Oregon coast.  Racing up Comp Hill on my moddestly modified Banshee or flying across the flats in 6th gear really gets the blood flowin'.

Following my 29th birthday I decided I was going to try racing. A friend of mine had been racing for a while and talked me into it. Just so happened that my first race was a WORCS national, 2005's Round 7 to be exact.  I raced on my wife's stock Suzuki Z400, it was a handful but I was hooked none the less.

Soon after the race I purchased a race ready Honda TRX450R and in 2006 jump head first into WORCS, competing in 6 of 9 rounds including two trips to Arizona, one to California and one to Idaho, the other two rounds I made were close to home in Washington state.

I started in the B class but soon gained the confidence to step up to the A class with a 3rd place ProAm finish in my first weekend of competing at the A level.

In 2007 I decided to step up to Pro. My feeling was that if I wanted to compete with the best, I might as well chase the best. A task that has proven to be a tough yet productive challenge. Biggest highlight so far is a 4th place finish in the Open Pro class at Round 6 of WORCS at Toutle, WA.
