Kayaking for Boyd was a dream he had when he was just a tiny kid in front of the TV watching the Kayaking Olympics. It was a passion before he even got in a boat for the first time!  Boyd started kayaking at 8 years old in a borrowed pink Dancer XS. After house cleaning and doing yard work for his parents and grandparents he evenually paid for his own kayak, an EPI 1000 (for those that remember). Boyd must have been the happiest kid in the world that day, with his own small kayak and into the greatest sport on the planet! At 15 or 16 years old a new friend got him into creeking and he fell in love with kayaking all over again! Something about slides and waterfalls always brought an extra big grin to his face... becoming a passion like no other! Shortly after, he picked up his first sponsors and later met his girlfriend, Samantha Brunner, who got into kayaking and photography. She drove him forward to go after his dream to kayak more and more! She showed him that he could step it up as a pro athlete and through her pictures, made kayaking professionally for him possible.  Now, at 24 years old and having paddled for about 16 years, Boyd travels with Sam, having amazing "Kavu days" and good times with their friends on rivers all over the country!  They take pictures and video of their adventures and work hard to thank the ones who make it all possible, their family and sponsors. Boyd's focus is reaching out and helping others to enjoy life and living the way he does!

Aside from kayaking, Boyd is a licensed sport skydiver and also enjoys ground launching, snowboarding, climbing, caving, backpacking, mountainboarding, and more... usually anything outside, active, and with his friends!
