The Project

We have been working on this project for 2 years, building an incredible ramp that is 96 feet long and stands up to 25 feet in the air and it is fully adjustable, ready for any challenge. We are not playing around! This has put many people in ah.  Just practicing, they said it was the most incredible jump they had ever seen. We had probably 150 people show up during a week of practice just by word of mouth.

The Event. The Record. The Rider.

This event will be held at Honolulu Hills Raceway, Taft, Ca.

Bird will be attempting to break the world record distance jump, currently set at 310 feet.

We will be setting up for 320 to 350 feet. He recently has made practice runs at 290 feet. (Not bad huh?)

He has the skill and the passion to make this a great event that everyone can talk about and remember. The jump will be made from Ramp to landing on a natural terrain hill.  We expect hundreds of spectators at the show.      We will keep you posted for Dates.

Practice

The video below was the hill Bird was landing on. Located 20 minutes from Bakersfield, Ca. This day he did 290 feet right out of the gate, Then did about 10 more hits, at about 265'-270' , for the people who missed it the first 9 times. A good day over all.

Not shown in this video, but of interest, after a 1/4 mile of battle with the terrain, and the hill in front of the ramp  keeping his speed  down to 72 mph, like a governor. He launched from the 96 foot ramp we built,( that's right, in our back yard. No Sponsors, just Literally Blood, Sweat and Tears). We had the ramp  set at 21 feet in the air . Later moving it back to 320' @ 25' high, for the next jump.

This week of practice runs put Bird 2nd in the world, also included  (though not logged with guinness) breaking a couple more records including biggest long distance trick on natural terrain. Bird did a one handed seat grab landing at 254 feet. The record is currently set at 253 foot Indian air, by Ryan Capes at race track in Washington. He is also the person who has only 20 feet on Birds practice run of 290 feet.

The Wreck

Incase you wondered. Bird did 23 jumps at this location. Wrecked out once. Had a handle bar malfuntion you might say. He landed at about 270 feet when the bar clamp gave. He rode it out for the most part but  ended up in the dirt. He's better now, had a head and rib issue for a while. So note : Always check your bike, gear, etc.... Oh ya, and fuel.
