Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

I had a baby horse and i started messing with it everday until it was time for it to start being able to ride and ever since then i ride all the time and compete every weekend because i love being around horses and being the best.

List your competitive highlights:

One highlight was when i won the 2007 4SHSRA pole bending saddle. Another was that next year i won the 2008 LBRA barrel saddle.

What are you planning for next season?

i am planning on having a even better season than the one this year and to travel alot more.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

My biggest accomplishment would have to be when i had serious accident on my horse and became injured for a while but i got back on as soon as i was able too.

What inspires you to compete?

My mom is the one who made me start barrel racing but then a few years ago my grandpa died and i knew from then on every run i made after that day would be for him. Ever since i have dedicated my barrel racing life to him.

Why do you like this sport?

I love this sport because its something everyone can do and you have an animal to love. Even if nobody understands you your horse is always the one you can talk to. When your running you and your horses heart come together and make a clean run in the end.

Music?

Well, i mainly listen to country music to on the way to my rodeos but when im fixing to compete i have my iPod in and have a song that will get my adrenaline pumping to help me concentrate on my run.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a Professional Barrel Racer when i grow up and compete in the NFR ( National Finals Rodeo ) and make it all the way to Las Vegas to make a run and always have the memory.
