How I got started

My older brother, Derek got me into BMX racing. He started racing at a local track when he wass younger and my parents took me with them so I could watch him race and eventually I got tired of  watching him have all the fun, so I asked my mom and dad if i could give it a go. They agreed thinking that I would not like it, but ever since I got on a BMX track no one could stop me from accomplishing new goals and traveling all over the world to race my BMX bike. 12 years later i`m still racing BMX and I love every single moment I get to hang out with my friends at the BMX track, traveling to new places to race my BMX bike, and riding with some of the best BMX riders in the world.

I have not taken BMX seriously for the last few years and I got bored after racing for 12 years so I took 2 years off (2003-2005) and I took an interest in motocross. Racing motocross was something I wanted to do  when I was younger, but we could not afford it. After racing for 2 years we couldn't afford motocross no more, so I unfortuately stopped racing motocross and I set my sights on making a BMX comeback.

Here we are in January of 2007 and i've been racing pro girls for about 8 months now and it has given me a new insight on BMX and new goals to reach. Being at the pro level is so competitive its just insane! I already raced my first ABA pro race of 2007 and I know what I need to be on the podium now it just takes determination and commitment. I am looking forward to the 2007 BMX season and i want to thank each and everyone who has helped me get to where I am today and to everyone who has given me a chance to prove myself to them. You guys mean so much to me words just are not enough!!

What inspires you to compete?

hmm the satisfaction i get from seeing the look on the boys faces after the realize they just got waxed by a girl gives me the greatest feeling ever and when i get those feelings its like a person stealing... you cant get enough of it so you wanna keep that addiction going.

Do you train? What does your schedule look like?

I train by curling beer bottles! haha just kiddin. i work mon-fri so its hard for me to work out, but i go to the gym at work after i get off and usually spend an hour doing core workouts, carido, and upper body. I try to spend at least 2-3 days a week in the gym, but lazyness gets the best of me sometimes. I ride mini moto on the weekends and that is really the only time i get to ride, but when i do ride its usually a full day.

Competitive Highlights

In 2000 I went to the NBL UCI Worlds in Argentina and I came back world #5 along with my USA teamate Amanda Geving who got world #6. That trip was the best and most fun i have ever had. I had so many great expierences in Argentina and I met alot of very nice people who idolized the Americans. It was just amazing!! The competition  in Argentina was very tough, but I was fortunately 1 of the 32 riders who made it to the 8 man main gate. I came out of the gate hard,  but I was cut off by 2 foreign riders. I slipped a pedal when i got cut off, but I was fortunate to come back and get a 5th overall. That is just one of many great highlights I have. Traveling the world and racing with some of the best BMX riders is an expierence only the best BMXers will get.
