Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

A friend gave me a 1984 KX250 back in 93 to ride and race in 1993 Mammoth Motocross. At the time I hadnt ridden any at all, I was racing snowboards in the winter, so I thought it would be fun on a whim. That was the beginning of it all

List your competitive highlights:

Qualifying for the Main at Mammoth Motocross. Second place overall in class at the Bishop Arenacross Recently competing in my first WORCS race.

What are you planning for next season?

To enjoy the races, travel the WORCS series, Mammoth Motocross, Bishop Arenacross and the Glen Helen National amateur day.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

Making the Main at Mammoth Motocross 2007

Q&A - Personal

Why do you like this sport?

I have always been a fan of Motocross and Off Road. Since watching the 77 Grand Prix on The Wide World of Sports that Saturday afternoon. It was completely by chance. Little did I know how that moment would have effected my life so much.

What inspires you to compete?

Mostly the camaraderie of the group. The extended family of friends you get to enjoy the company of while bench racing. That bench racing all starts on the track when getting to battle with your friends, races that you will remember for years.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

I think everyone has a story like this, but pulling off at the white flag then realizing that the race is still going so I pulled back on to the track to finish.

Describe your style...

Little bit of Travis Pastrana, little bit of Hannah. I like to pull from the best of all time racers.

Do you like to travel? What's your best (clean) road trip story?

That is the best part of racing. Getting to the event. The trip to the track is always a memorable trip. Sliding out of work early Friday morning, loading up, trying to stuff 10 pounds of gear in a five pound sack. You always realize you forgot something so stopping off on the way, then finally arriving way too late and its way too dark and cold to properly set up, but some how its managed. The early morning rise as the first bike is started at dawn. The smell of the campfires smelling the coffee with the race gas. Hard to pin one road trip down. They all are great. Even the bad ones.
