Q&A - Competition

How did you get started?

BMX when I was like 10. Also did some DH when it was in their early days (when the best were Cullinan, Rockwell, Lopes, Earthquake Jake Watson, Palmer, Vouilloz)

List your competitive highlights:

2nd Place 1995 National DH Cup (Front Suspension Class) 2nd Place 1996 National Championships (Front Suspension Class) 4th Place 2009 National DH Summer Cup (Expert Class) 2nd Place 2009 Guatemala National Championship (Expert Class)

What are you planning for next season?

Hopefully, to finish the year in better position than I am right now, hopefully a podium in the National Championships, and to qualify to represent Costa Rica in the Pan-American Championships in Guatemala in 2010

What has been your biggest accomplishment?

To comeback successfully to race Downhill with no family support, no financial support by anyone, with a left knee that has been operated on twice, and when family told me I was too old to do it anyway...

Q&A - Self Interview

What made you comeback to race?

Just to prove to myself that if I work hard at it, I can get the results I want, and just cause racing has been a part of my life I have been missing for 10 years

Why do you like this sport (DH)?

Cause I love speed, it's my adrenaline shot, to be on the very edge or your abilites, to do things on a bike some people consider crazy

What is your favorite music?

Rock, Alternative, Indy, love anything from 70's till what you can hear on the radio right now. Favorites are Collective Soul, Matchbox20, Coheed & Cambria, Van Halen, Bloc Party, Anberlin, AC/DC, Static-X to name a few

Describe your riding style...

For sure, old school. Not stylish at all! Like to keep my wheels on the ground. Getting used to jumping but not really comfortable on it yet.

Best places to ride

Here in Costa Rica, Providencia (nothing like several natural trails, steep & technical and 30-45min long!) Would love to visit Whistler, Sol Vista, Diablo, Mont St Anne, and Livigno, and other European tracks
