Roxy’s Alexis Waite, comes from the Northwest, originally from Tahoe, CA and now residing in Portland, Oergon, where she constantly pushes the limitless boundaries of snowboarding. Alexis, or Lexi by nickname, is one of the most progressive snowboarders who leads the way in style and determination. Turning pro in the 2002/2003 season, she wasted no time making her mark onto the snow circuit. In 2004 and 2005, Alexis designed the snowboard line for her former sponser, Santa Cruz snowboards, inclusing a beautiful signature board called “Muse”, which won Transworld Snowboardings “Best Women’s Board for 2005”. Alexis now proudly rides Roxy snowboards and contributes to the snowboard design team as well as designing her own boards.
The past season has brought her many joys including living in Salt Lake City, UT with her friends and some teammates and a lot of traveling around the world learning about other cultures – something that Alexis thrives upon and fortunately it comes with the territory. For the past year, Lexi has been filming with friends and fellow teammate Amber Stackhouse’s production company Misschief Films for their debut performance, “As If”, which is being failed as the best all-woman’s snowboard film ever.
However, the playful season wasn’t as perfect as she had planned for when in early 2005, while practicing at the X-Games, Alexis fractured her eye socket causing serious nerve damage. Blessed to still have complete vision and no physical signs of injury, Lexi holds her head high as she heads back to the slopes. Her contest results are continually staged wins like 1st place in jib at the Van’s Triple Crown, in 2003 and 2001 and 2nd place at The Sessions Rail Jam in Vail, CO in 2004.
Alexis studied Art at the University of Washington where she worked hard developing her other god-given talen of design. Whether designing graphics for her co-owned boutique clothing company Wize Designs or creating one-of-a-kind pieces, Alexis gives her artistic eye a lot of nurturing. Lexi has appeared in several films including: recently stunt doubling “White Air” (set to release November 2005), “Declaration”, “Neoproto”, “411 Snow 5, 6, 7” and “Exit Real World Team Video”. Alexis has also been feature din SG Magazine, Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Toro Magazine, Men’s Fitness Magazine, and Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine.
