Race: Page 2

Date of Event:  October 8th, 2006

I was very excited for this race because I had just finished modifiying my bike.  The morning of the race we did the poker run, or attepted to do it.  I made it a whole 5-6 miles into the poker run and then wrecked. I was a dumbass and went off coarse to pass some slower people. I glanced over my shoulder to make sure I wouldnt hit anyone when coming back onto the coarse. As I turned back around the next thing I know I that I am on my way over the handle bars. Before hitting the ground I felt my foot slap me in the leg, thinking humm... that didnt feel right. Once I landed on the ground I found my self pinned under my quad.  A few friends/ fellow racers came over and pulled it off of me.  At that time I knew that my ankle was obviously broken.  Later went to the hospital and found out that I had destroyed my ankle. I had several brakes in the ankle which required:  1 plate, 10 screws, and 2 washers to put it back together. I had also broke my leg right below the knee.  Spent 7 days in the hospital, 2 months on crutches, 3 months physical tharapy. Now its a new race season I am all healed up and will be back out there competing again.
