Rest In Peace Adam Schatz #23
Those of you who don't know, Adam passed away recently due to injuries that he sustained at Road America.
I will always remember Adam for his drive to enjoy life. At CKT Racing during lunch, he was always trying to goat me and Jimmy into trying his HOT sauce. I too was not a big fan of hot stuff but maybe next time Jimmy will let me try just a little. When I do, I'm sure he will be looking down and laughing at me, as I race to the sink for some cold water. Does anybody really need to burn the inside of their mouth to enjoy their food or to feel alive??
At the track he was always there to give me a tips on how to go just a little faster or how to rebuild my carb (see video clip below). You could tell that Adam enjoyed racing in his soul. He found his passion, and died doing what he loved. There are many people in this world that never experience something that makes them feel so truly alive. Racing does it to me just like it did for Adam. I wonder who in heaven he is racing with now. Who is he schooling on how to get a little more out of their chassis so he can beat them again. After all no wants to beat you when your slow, its not as much fun. I will miss you Adam.
God Speed Adam, God Speed
