Introduction

The Ann Arbor Triathlon Club is here to promote the sport of triathlon - that means swimming, biking and running. We aim to help out established and aspiring triathletes with training events and social activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle. (Yes, ice cream is good for you!) This organization is a Club, not a team. Racing is not our main objective and we don't care if you've never participated in a triathlon.  However, many of our 150 Club members do compete in triathlons and other races. We're a non-profit group run exclusively by volunteers and we strongly urge your participation. Your input is vital to the long-term success of the Club.

Group Workouts

This winter we have plans to resume weekly spinning classes and swimming clinics/workouts.  We are also putting together clinics on nutrition, bike maintenance, running posture, and we are open to hosting other clinics if our membership and/or sponsors have further ideas so feel free to join and get involved. Watch our website and get onto our mailing list for weekly updates on upcoming workouts.

Our Club is most active from May through September. On Thursdays, club members meet at 6:00 p.m. at Barton Park to do a combined bike/run "brick" workout. It typically consists of a 15- to 20-mile bike ride, followed by a 2- to 5-mile run. Starting in June, we also meet on Friday evenings for an open-water swim and trail-run at Silver Lake in Pinckney (with pizza and ice cream afterwards!) Individual members also organize longer runs on Saturdays and bike rides on Sundays throughout the season. See the Event Calendar for the current schedule of activities.
