Overview

How I got started

I have raced infrequently lately due to bike problems, however my dad got me a second bike. I finished third overall in the winter series at VMC. I got second in the summer series at VMC. I got first overall at their final series. I won both days at the four stroke national.I finished 15th overall at the Glen Helen dealer series despite missing four of the six rounds. I was running fifth overall at the Glen Helen National before a bad fall bent my bars and broke the frame on my ktm. I finished the race and ended up in 13th overall. At the CA State Championships I finished third in the 85 12-13 class. I also race various grand prix, and in 2005 I will be doing selected desert races in District-37.

Goals for the Future

I have several goals for 2005. This year I want to get to as many different tracks as possible to improve my riding and conditioning. I am currently finishing the season at Glen Helen REM and hope to win the overall title next season.I also plan to race more at Starwest in Perris to improve my short track abilities. My main goal this year is to qualify for Loretta`s and go there for the first time and have good results. My grades are also important for me as well as my parents. I plan to remain on the honor roll to improve my chances for college.

What inspires you to compete?

Ricky James really inspires me to race.

Some Personal Information About Me:

Hello, my name is Hunter Lent and I am 14 years old. I started racing motocross about three years ago on a kx 65. I got started racing in bmx when I was five years and raced nationals in the expert class until I was nine. I rode for The Heat, a team from Hesperia,Ca until an unfortunate turn of events turned me to motorcycles. Before that, I had won and placed in several national main events in bmx. As a student, I am currently on the honor roll and have been for every report card since I started school. I was the school president at Rio Vista Elementary School and was awarded the Presidents Award for Citizenship two years in a row. I was an all star baseball player until politics took over and I began focusing on motocross. This year my goal is to qualify for Loretta`s, and my family is planning that for our vacation. I am a dedicated rider, I represent myself, my family, and my sponsors well in public and this year I plan to work harder than ever to be the best racer and person ever. Thank you

Describe your style...

I`m very relaxed at the line until the 30 second board goes up, and the intensity sets in. I have been getting great starts on dirt, almost always in front. Once on the track, I consider myself to be a very smooth rider, and am usually one of the first 85 riders to hit a new jump or section at race speed.

Why do you compete?

After playing team sports for several years, I have found that racing is more exciting. There`s nobody else to blame[ except for my dad when something falls off the bike] if you don`t finish well. At the end of every moto I always know I rode my hardest.

How's Life Treating You?

Great!!!! After a decent year, I just made the switch from ktm to Kawasaki. My dad just got me two new 85`s and a new 100 for the 2006 season. I`m doing alot of testing on them right now and can`t wait ot get to a race.

Competitive Highlights

The biggest highlight so far has to be my back to back wins at the four stroke national. After riding a yz85 for a year, my dad surprised me with a ktm85 just three days before the races. I had one day of practice on the new bike, but felt like I had been on it forever.
