Q&A - Personal

Some Personal Information About Me:

I statred riding quads at the age of 16 with a 1990 Yamaha Blaster. Many thanks to my friend Dave Milam and his family for getting me into this awesome sport. Years later I bought a 1997 Yamaha Banshee. In 2001, I sold the pair to concentrate on getting into my current profession. In 2004, the new 450's started becoming very popular and racing ATV's was making a comeback. I currently race a 2008 Yamaha YFZ450 and I am working on building another racing machine with a 2009 YFZ450-R, updated pics coming soon.

What inspires you to compete?

I belive most athletes have a natural instinct for competition. I aslo get my inspiration from my friend Dave Milam who I used to watch race. There's just an undescribable feeling of being on the starting line, lined up with 10+ other riders, when that gate drops.

What has been your most embarrassing moment?

Pismo Beach Race 2005. I was coming through the scoring chute which narrows down to a sigle file line. The rutts got deep and I got stuck. There were about 10 pissed off riders behind me yelling at me.

Music?

I'll quote my friend Richie, "If someone took the time to write it, I'll take the time to listen to it"

What do you want to be when you grow up?

This question must be for the younger crowd, but I'll answer anyways. When I was I elementary school, I wanted to be an Astronaut or Train Engineer. In my current profession, I'm a Firefighter/Paramedic and would have to say it is the best job, allthough a pro Quad Racer wouldn't be a bad second job!
